Biography:
JAN BEATY LEEK
Texas artist, Jan Beaty Leek was raised in the Hill Country of Texas.
Her inspiration for her landscape paintings is the very country that she grew up in…Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush,
rolling prairies, rocky terrain, Oak and mesquite trees, century old barns and shacks, hay bales, barbed wire fences, grazing
cattle and horses and the varied wildlife.
A natural artistic talent
was recognized at the early age of eight and developed into many artistic areas during her career. Advertising and Newspaper design, book illustration, magazine production, public relations, a graphic design
business, a corporate career including website design, competitive ballroom dancing,
costume design are all a part of Jan’s life.
Now her art career has
come full circle. Back to the original inspirations. Time now is devoted to oil
and acrylic painting putting aside the corporate world. Works by Jan Beaty Leek are in corporate and private collections. Jan’s current original oils and acrylics may be purchased through Sara Gates
Gallery and 3 Day Framing, David Gates Gallery in Fort Smith, Arkansas and Woodstone Gallery in Kerrville, Texas.
Jan and her husband, Bob,
enjoy their home in the Dallas area, and have dreams of land in the Texas Hill Country for
a retreat, additional art studio, a better view of the Texas sky, and maybe, a dance in the
moonlight on her beloved Texas prairie.
